How do you store a human hair wig?

Recommended Posts

We all know wigs can be a little pricey, so you want to invest in caring for your wig. Storing your wig correctly is important to promoting the longevity of your 5x5 closure wig and to make sure it lasts a long time. Today, let's see how Janna Nikki store her wigs.

The best way to store your blonde closure wig is on a mannequin head. The mannequin head is pretty much the same size as a human head, so it will keep the shape of your wig well. Also, it has a face, so they kind of have a personality and you can see what the hair would look like on a face.

There are a few different Styrofoam heads you can get. You can get ones with a longer neck if you have a latest hair colour wig with long hair or you can get a short neck Styrofoam head for shorter length wigs. The only thing about these is that they are Styrofoam, so they're super light and they feel less stable, but other than that they are a nice cheaper alternative to a mannequin head.

You can just plop the wig on the hanger and hang it in the closet. The only disadvantage of this hanger is that the wig is a little lumpy and bumpy on the hanger. If you really want to maintain the shape of your wig, I would recommend one of the mannequin head options.

Sometimes, you may need to travel with your wig, so a wig bag would be the best option.

The great thing about wig bags is that they come in silk options, and there are so many benefits to keeping your wigs and your hair in silk. It helps to retain the moisture in your hair, reduces frizz and breakage and is overall gentler with your hair.

Wigs are a big investment. And while we know that all wigs lose their natural luster and shine over time, there are some things you can do to make your wig last even longer, including learning how to properly store your wig.

Learning how to store a wig is a surefire way to improve the overall quality of your wig and keep it looking fresher, longer.

Wigs are designed to hold up to a lot, but there are certain things you should avoid doing with your wig.

Number one on that list of things not to do with your wigs? Storing your wigs in direct sunlight or hot areas. The ones your mother wore to keep her perfect bun in place at church and while she was baking your favorite after school snack.
